Just a question around the James Smith calculator too - do you know what he is classing as exercise? I walk our dog twice a day for upwards of 30mins each time, but am inactive for the rest of the day as I have a desk job, does this mean that I am sedentary or lightly active...? It's a fair difference in calories; 1523 to 1745, which could be the difference in losing weigh each week. I've looked for advice on judging activity levels on his website, but I can't see anything, a little guidance would be fab! Thank you xx

60 mins+ everyday is moderate doesn't matter that you seditary in between. The general guidelines are 60 mins per day and it builds on how many days you do it. Light is only 1-3 times per week.

I’m confused how the James Smith calculator works as it’s saying I need to be consuming 1835 calories a day but on the nhs website it says you should be aiming to reduce calorie intake by 600kcals from the recommended daily calorie intake of 2,000kcals which would be 1,400kcals. So how does the James Smith calculator work as I’m just confused

Hey lovely :) So the James smith calculator would be the one I would go with because it's more tailored to your personal situation. The NHS guidance is very general, whereas the JS calculator factors in your height, weight and activity level too - I really hope that makes sense xxx

I would go with the James smith calculator estimate as that sounds about right xx1,400 is to low but try it and tweak ♥️🥰 You can always reduce as you lose but starting that low means you have nowhere to go 🙏🏻
